Welcome to InsightTube ("the App", "we", "our").
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access and use of the App, including our website, mobile applications, and any related services.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please stop using the App immediately.
2. Eligibility
You must be:
- At least 4 years old, and
- Legally able to enter into binding agreements in your region.
If you are under the minimum legal age in your country, you must use the App with parental permission.
3. Account Registration
We use Supabase Authentication to manage login and account identity.
By creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Maintain the security of your account
- Not share your credentials with others
- Be responsible for actions taken under your account
We reserve the right to terminate accounts involved in abuse, fraud, or violations of these Terms.
4. Services Provided
InsightTube offers tools including, but not limited to:
- AI video summarization
- AI chapter generation
- Subtitle extraction & translations
- AI-assisted video content exploration
- YouTube video metadata fetching
- Private video library & saved results
- Subscription-based premium features
These features may evolve over time.
5. User Content
"User Content" includes:
- YouTube video IDs you submit
- Summaries, subtitles, chapters, and translations generated for you
- Metadata associated with your usage
You retain ownership of all User Content you submit.
By using the App, you grant us permission to:
- Process your User Content
- Store results in your Supabase account
- Display processed content back to you in the App
We do not claim ownership of your content.
6. AI Processing
We use third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI) to generate summaries, translations, or insights.
You acknowledge that:
- AI outputs may not be accurate or reliable
- Generated content may contain errors
- You should independently verify important information
- We do not store your AI chat messages or prompts after processing
- AI outputs are provided "as is," without warranty
You are responsible for how you use AI-generated results.
7. YouTube API Notice
This App uses YouTube API Services.
By using InsightTube, you agree to:
- Be bound by YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
- Not download, store, rehost, or redistribute YouTube videos
- Only use YouTube content in accordance with Google API policies
We access only public metadata and content allowed by YouTube policies.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Abuse or overload our service
- Try to reverse-engineer the App
- Attempt unauthorized access to other users' content
- Use the App to violate copyright or intellectual property rights
- Harass or harm other users
- Use the service for automated scraping, botting, or mass extraction
Violation may result in suspension or permanent account removal.
9. Subscription & Payment
Paid features are managed through RevenueCat and billed through:
- Apple App Store in-app purchases
Subscription terms:
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled
- You may manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings
- Payments are handled by Apple; we do not store card or billing data
- No refunds are issued directly by us (refunds must be requested through Apple)
Prices may change with notice.
10. Data Storage & Privacy
We store necessary user data in Supabase, including:
- Email address
- Account profile
- Processed video summaries, subtitles, and chapters
We do not store:
- AI chat logs
- AI prompts
- Usage analytics logs
- Device-level behavioral data
Push notifications are handled via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).

11. Account Deletion
You may request full account deletion at any time.
Deleting your account will permanently remove:
- Your Supabase profile
- All stored summaries, subtitles, chapters
- All associated processed content
Deleted data cannot be restored.
12. Intellectual Property
All App assets, branding, UI design, and software code are owned by InsightTube.
You may not:
- Copy
- Modify
- Distribute
- Sell
- Create derivative works
of any part of the App unless explicitly allowed.
13. Service Availability
We strive for stable service but do not guarantee:
- 100% uptime
- Loss-free data storage
- No service interruptions
- Compatibility with all devices
- AI accuracy
We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available."
We disclaim all warranties, including:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy of AI outputs
- Non-infringement
- Continuous availability
You use the App at your own risk.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- We are not responsible for inaccurate AI-generated content
- We are not responsible for YouTube content or third-party API failures
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
